Common Occurrence: Customer calls after service is completed and invoice is paid and asks if we can run their card for an extra $20 to tip the crew. Unfortunately, no workflow cleanly accommodates this.
Currently when you create a payment in HWs it can do one of two things: 1) be allocated to a specific invoice or 2) be left as a credit on the customers account.
If the invoice is paid, the first option is moot. If the customer wants to Tip and not add a credit, the second choice is also inappropriate.
Perfect World:
Logically, we need a third option. We need this workflow:
From 'Customer Details' Page > '+Create' > 'Payment' > 'Apply To' > We need a new option in this drop down called 'Tip' where the Amount field is not fillable and only the Tip field is.
MVP:
An easier solution is to allow "add as a Customer Credit" to accept an amount of 0.00 so long as the Tip amount was >0. This solution avoids you needing to create a new option if that's a heavy lift, but it's not as polished or professional for a software of this caliber.
